Young 88 Class Racing

Young 88s are out racing every week!

In Auckland, during the summer, the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron and the Richmond Yacht Club hold Wednesday Night racing with courses in the inner harbour. Members also participate in a variety of other events run by various clubs, as indicated in the Calendar.

The Association organises some racing events itself in Auckland and in other centres.

  • The Coastal Classic – a good fleet of Young 88s participates in this event, recognised as NZ’s largest yacht race.

Class races are open to Association members with boats with a valid measurement certificate.
